Ventilation technologies to improve your patients’ experience

Your ventilated patients are coping with challenging diagnoses, life-limiting conditions or exacerbations that may lead to hospital admission. Problems with their device or mask could affect their quality of life and their acceptance of and compliance with therapy.

With a deeper understanding of our device technologies, modes and algorithms, you’ll be better placed to deliver setup and titration that supports effective, comfortable therapy for your patients over the long term. Discover how Resmed’s solutions could help.

Patient comfort

Promote therapy adoption and adherence by offering a positive, comfortable experience.

Climate Control

Tackle rainout, cold air and dryness in the nose or mouth with Climate Control. This intelligent system is designed to promote comfort and therapy adherence and reduce the risk of rainout by providing consistent, personalised temperature and humidity.

Ramp and Ramp down

Instead of starting therapy at high pressure or abruptly shifting to zero support, use Ramp and Ramp Down to gently ease patients into and out of therapy sessions.

Mask Fit

Fine tune your patient’s mask fit before their first therapy session to support efficacy, promote comfort and limit unintentional leak.

Patient-device synchrony

Optimise patient-device synchrony to reduce work of breathing and enhance comfort.

TiControl™

TiControl can promote patient-device synchrony by tailoring the inspiratory cycle to reflect the patient’s inspiration times and physical condition, which can help improve their comfort.

Vcync

To improve treatment efficacy and deliver effective triggering and cycling, Vsync maintains comfortable synchronisation between the patient and the device, even in the presence of significant leak.

Rise time and Fall time

Rise time and Fall time support your patient’s comfort, work of breathing and synchrony by controlling the time it takes to reach their target pressure.

Trigger and Cycle

Trigger and Cycle settings can reduce work of breathing and increase comfort by fine-tuning the detection of the beginning and end of each breath and adjusting the effort required to inhale and exhale.

Modes & algorithms

Adaptive and responsive modes and algorithms help to ensure your patient’s ventilation treatment adapts to their fluctuating needs.

iVAPS™

iVAPS is an automated mode that maintains a preset target alveolar minute ventilation when there are changes in your patient’s condition, airway resistance, body position, sleep or respiratory muscles.

AutoEPAP

AutoEPAP* automatically adjusts EPAP to help prevent full and partial obstructions.

iBR

Encourage spontaneous breathing with iBR, an intelligent back-up algorithm that offers comfortable support when it’s needed and stays out of the way when it’s not.

Safety Volume

Resmed’s optional Safety Volume (SVt)** automatically adjusts pressure to deliver a target volume. It also offers a volume guarantee to pressure modes.

Remote monitoring

Remote access to relevant device and patient data can help to maintain care quality, facilitate timely responses to health problems, and improve patient management.

AirView: interactive reporting

Interactive reporting from AirView provides a useful overview of your patient’s respiratory metrics on a single screen and enables you to access, analyse and share up-to-date therapy and device data.

AirView: patient population management

AirView’s management-by-exception feature empowers you to automatically track and detect changes in your patient’s clinical condition with customisable rules, thresholds, dashboards and notifications.

AirView: remote settings change

AirView’s remote settings change feature enables you to remotely adjust Lumis therapy modes and device settings to address issues and support patient comfort, compliance and quality of life.

*Only available in iVAPS mode. iVAPS mode is available in Lumis 150 ST, Lumis 150 ST-A, Stellar 150 and all Astral variants. iVAPS therapy mode is indicated for patient weighing 30kg and above.

**Only available for Astral series and when using the following pressure modes: P(A)CV, PS, S(T) and PAC.
